Following their sell-out performance in Spring, we are delighted to welcome Ushaw Chapel Choir back for an unmissable evening of folk and secular music in one of Auckland Castle’s most historic and atmospheric venues. 

The evening’s offerings include 16th Century Madrigals by Thomas Morley, John Wilbye, and John Dowland, a selection of timeless Classics such as "Summertime" and "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", North East Folk Songs arranged by local composers, and a special performance by the Choir Flute Ensemble.

Join professional commercial photographer Graeme Rowatt for an outdoor digital photography course for beginners. This one-time event will be held in the stunning new Walled Garden, a formally landscaped and exquisitely planted space within the historic grounds of Auckland Castle. With abundant inspiration, you will learn how to maximise the potential of your camera. Participants will have the unique opportunity to enhance their skills in a picturesque setting under expert guidance.

Please be advised that our Walled Garden is not accessible to individuals with mobility impairments, however, the rest of our gardens are fully accessible.

Join us for a unique and inspiring creative session on the Weardale Railway! Whether you're an experienced artist or a beginner, this watercolor and sketching workshop offers a fantastic opportunity to capture the scenic landscapes and hidden gems along the rails. Under the guidance of an expert artist, you'll explore and document the breathtaking views and behind-the-scenes moments at Wolsingham Depot. Enjoy the journey, discover new perspectives, and develop your artistic skills in a supportive and relaxed environment. Starting and ending at Bishop Auckland Railway, 10:00 AM to 3:00PM. All materials are provided, and no previous experience is required. Embrace the adventure and create lasting memories on this artistic railway journey!

Please note the experience requires a reasonable level of fitness as you will be climbing on and off the train at most locations, if you are unable to do this we will arrange to move the train to allow you to carry out the drawing.
