Terms & Conditions

In these terms and conditions, the following definitions apply:

“Applicable Date” means the date your ticket allows you access to the relevant Destination(s);

“Destinations” means Auckland Palace and Gardens, Spanish Gallery, Mining Art Gallery, Auckland Tower, Walled Garde, Faith Museum and Binchester;
“we” means TAP Trading Limited (company no: 08148123) and “our” shall be construed accordingly;
“you” means the purchaser of the ticket and “your” shall be construed accordingly.

All visitors to the Destinations must have a valid entrance ticket. By purchasing a ticket, you agree to the terms and conditions of sale as set out below.

Ticket categories

Adult – over 16 years inclusive;
Child – 5 to 15 years inclusive;
Family 1 Adult* – 1 adult (over 16 years inclusive) and up to 3 children (5 to 15 years inclusive);
Family 2 Adult* – 2 adults (over 16 years inclusive) and up to 3 children (5 to 15 years inclusive).

We reserve the right to require valid proof of age or status and to refuse entry if you are unable to produce the same.

General Conditions

Annual Passes allow you to access all Destinations for a 12 month period from the day of purchase.
Altering or defacing a ticket or Annual Pass may render it void.
Once payment has been processed, no cancellation of the ticket or transaction can be made whether bought online, over the phone or in person.
Tickets cannot be refunded after purchase.
Tickets for events, day time or evening, are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for an alternative date or event.
No ticket may be resold without our prior written consent of The Auckland Project. If any person attempts to enter a Destination with a ticket that has been resold without our written consent, we may refuse entry and we shall not be liable to pay compensation in those circumstances.
Tickets may not be advertised for transfer or sale.
No Child under the age of 16 shall be entitled to enter a Destination without an accompanying adult. We reserve the right to refuse admission to unaccompanied children.
All prices are correct at time of publishing. They are subject to change without prior notice.
It is your responsibility to check all tickets at the time of purchase or on arrival (by post/email). Please check your tickets carefully at this time as mistakes cannot always be rectified.
We reserve the right to refuse admission, terminate a visit, close rooms or restrict access to areas within the Destinations at short notice and without prior warning.
We reserve the right to alter or vary arrangements due to events or circumstances beyond our control, without being obliged to refund monies or exchange tickets.
Eating and drinking are prohibited within the Destinations, except in the Bishop’s Kitchen, Kitchen Courtyard, El Castillo Tapas Restaurant and outside areas.
Smoking (including vaping) is prohibited at the Destinations except in designated smoking areas.
Photography (without flash) and filming for personal use only is allowed in Auckland Palace, the Spanish Gallery and Auckland Tower. Photography is not permitted in the Mining Art Gallery or the Bishop Trevor Gallery within Auckland Palace.
Discount codes can be subject to limited availability and can be changed and/or withdrawn at any time, without notice.
Dogs are welcome in the Deer Park and Gardens as long as they are on a lead at all times. Dogs are welcome in the Bishop’s Kitchen outdoor courtyard which can be accessed via the North Terrace Garden. Dogs are not allowed inside any of The Auckland Project’s attractions at any time, unless they are Assistance Dogs.
We do not allow large bags, suitcases, rucksacks, prams or pushchairs into some Destinations. Any such items cannot be stored or taken into the buildings. There will be appropriate signage to make you aware of this, please cooperate with our staff by following their instructions.
Small bags can be stored in the Spanish Gallery lockers. The lockers are 30cm wide x 44cm high. Visitors to Auckland Palace or the Mining Art Gallery should wear small rucksacks on the front of the body.
We reserve the right to introduce security checks, and items such as bags and rucksacks may be subject to search.
You may be liable for any damage you cause to the Destination or any of its contents or for any injury caused to any of our representatives or other visitors during your visit.
We exclude all liability for any loss, damage to personal property or injury to visitors, howsoever caused, but we do not exclude liability where any death or injury is caused by our negligence or the negligence of our staff or volunteers.
Please note we are not able to provide you with a VAT receipt upon ticket purchase at a Destination. If you require a VAT invoice, please contact [email protected]
Ownership of a ticket does not confer any rights on you to use, alter, copy or otherwise deal with any of our symbols, trademarks, logos and/or other intellectual property. The Auckland Project is a registered trade mark.
The following activities are not allowed at the Destinations: camping, lighting fires, barbeques, swimming, any activity which may damage trees, plants or wildlife, horse-riding, drinking alcohol.
We reserve the right, at our absolute discretion, to refuse you admission or remove you from the relevant Destination where you fail to act in accordance with these terms or otherwise fail to comply with our reasonable requests or where your behaviour may impact on the enjoyment and/or safety of others.
Notwithstanding anything above, the laws of England apply to all tickets sales. The Auckland Project reserves the right to refuse admission, close rooms, terminate a visit, or restrict access to areas within the grounds or the buildings at short notice and without prior warning.

Online Ticket Purchases

Changes to the date and/or entry time of an event admissions ticket can be made, providing the preferred date/time is available until 9am on the day of the original booking. You can amend your ticket booking at any time by logging into your online account. Please note: times/dates of tickets for signature events cannot be changed once booked.
Tickets cannot be resold, or offered for re-sale via a third party. To do so invalidates the ticket.
We do not charge a booking fee, but a donation of £1 per booking is recommended when booking online.
Unless otherwise stated, no tickets will be sent out in the post, unless otherwise specified upon purchase.
When your purchase has been confirmed, your reference is the e-mail sent to the e-mail address you specified. It’s your responsibility to check prior to purchase that the information you have supplied to us in respect of your ticket requirements is accurate. We are only responsible for issuing tickets in accordance with the information you provide.

Refunds

Once purchased, tickets are non-refundable and non-cancellable. However, changes can be made to the date and/or entry time of an event admission ticket until 9am on the day of the original booking. You can amend your ticket booking at any time by logging into your online account.

Group Bookings

We offer package discounts of up to 20% on full price Destination tickets and Annual Passes for groups of 10 people or more.
Individuals within a group could choose to upgrade to an Annual Pass from a Destination ticket.
Discount is only available for entry Wednesday to Sunday (including Bank Holiday Mondays).
One driver ticket per coach or minibus.
All bookings to be confirmed in writing.
A £50 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking if you are booking catering. The remaining balance is due at least 2 weeks in advance of visit and on receipt of invoice.
Payment to be made in advance of visit and on receipt of invoice.
Change in group numbers only available 14 days or more ahead of the visit.

Annual Pass

Annual Passes are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
Annual Passes are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
Annual Pass holders are entitled to unlimited entry at the following ticketed Destinations during normal opening hours: Auckland Palace and Gardens, Faith Museum, Spanish Gallery, Mining Art Gallery and Binchester Roman Fort.
The Annual Pass does not include Weardale Railway.
Once purchased, you must present your Annual Pass on arrival to gain entry to the Destinations included above.
Annual Passes purchased via Direct Debit will automatically renew after 12 months unless cancelled.
Annual Pass discounts and promotions are not available online and can only be redeemed in person at the ticketed Destinations listed above.
20% discount is available to households with a DL4, DL5, DL13, DL14, DL15, DL16 or DL17 postcode. Proof of postcode is required to redeem this offer, and must be presented at Auckland Tower on arrival. This offer is only available on Annual Passes and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
Each year, we implement a winter closure period to carry out essential conservation work, deep cleaning, and exhibition updates. These measures are crucial for preserving our historic attractions and ensuring the highest quality experience for visitors throughout the year. Due to this we close for approximately six weeks. The Annual Passes are valid for 12 months from purchase and the closure will not be refunded or extended.

Friends of The Auckland Project

Friends of The Auckland Project memberships are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
Friends of The Auckland Project memberships are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
Friends of The Auckland Project are entitled to unlimited entry at the following ticketed Destinations during normal opening hours: Auckland Palace and Gardens, Faith Museum, Spanish Gallery, Mining Art Gallery. You must present your Friends membership card on arrival to gain free entry.
Complimentary tickets issued with Friends of The Auckland Project memberships can only be redeemed once. Separate T&Cs apply (see reverse of tickets for further details).
Friends of The Auckland Project are entitled to a 10% discount on retail, food and drink in The Auckland Project’s gift shops and eateries. The food and drink discount will be applied to transactions up to the value of £15 when purchasing cake, snacks and drinks (excluding alcohol) and to transactions up to the value of £40 when purchasing meals and drinks (excluding alcohol). These terms and conditions apply to Bishop’s Kitchen and El Castillo. We reserve the right to withdraw these discounts at any time.
Friend memberships purchased via Direct Debit will automatically renew after 12 months unless cancelled.

Carers Tickets

We offer free tickets to Carers who are visiting our venues with a Discovery Day Ticket or Annual Pass holder with additional needs.

To help us ensure that these tickets are made available to those with genuine needs, please bring your ID with you on the day of your visit. We accept the following forms of ID:

Entitlement to Disability Living Allowance for children under 16 or DLA/Personal
Independent Payments (PIP), either in the form of a letter stating that the benefit has been awarded, or the actual Allowance book
Attendance Allowance or Carer’s Allowance letter of award
Incapacity Benefit books, or a letter notifying the recipient that the benefit has been awarded Incapacity Benefit or Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
In the case of visual impairment, a registration card known as the BD8 or a Certificate of Visual Impairment (CVI)
A local authority registration document which is local to the attraction where it is being submitted
Credibility’s Access Card (plus 1 icon)

AGLOW 2026

At the time of purchase, ticket holders can choose between a Flexi Ticket and a standard (non-Flexi) ticket option.

Flexi Tickets permit a one-time charge of the originally booked date and/or time slot, subject to availability. Any change request must be made no less than 24 hours before the scheduled event time and must be submitted during office hours (Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 4:00pm) to The Auckland Project.

Flexi Ticket changes are limited to a single amendment per ticket. Once a change has been made, no further amendments will be permitted.

Flexi Tickets for Off Peak time slots may only be changed to other Off Peak Time slots. Changes from Off Peak to Peak slots will incur an additional charge of any outstanding balance.

Standard (non-Flexi) tickets do not permit changes to date or time. Any requests to amend a standard ticket may be considered solely at the discretion of the organisers and may be subject to an additional administration fee or may be declined entirely.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

The Auckland Project serves as the organisers of Aglow.
These terms and conditions are established to ensure the safety and security of all attendees at Aglow.
By purchasing a ticket or accepting a guest ticket from any outlet and entering the event as a ticket holder or guest, you agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions periodically, with updates reflected on the event website.

Age Policy

Proof of age in the form of recognised photographic ID may be required to purchase alcohol. A challenge 25 policy will be enforced at the bars.
If you possess a complimentary carer ticket, you will be required to present your carer ID – accepted forms of carer ID are:

Carer ticket holders must attend the event with the person for whom they are a carer.
The Auckland Project reserves the right to refuse entry or cancel tickets if these requirements are not met.

Ticket Purchase

Only tickets purchased from Digitickets will be valid for entry. Tickets are non-exchangeable, non-refundable, and non-transferable. Reselling or attempting to resell tickets is prohibited unless done through authorised agents. In the event of a breach of this condition (or any other Terms and Conditions), we reserve the right to cancel the applicable tickets and deny entry without refund or compensation.
Tickets to the event remain the property of the event for security reasons and may be recalled at any time.
The name of the lead ticket holder must be provided at the time of purchase.
Tickets purchased may not be used as part of a promotion, competition, advertising, or given away as part of a product or service package for commercial gain.
We are not responsible for any lost or stolen tickets.
When multiple tickets are purchased in a single transaction, all members of the party must arrive simultaneously.

Entrance Policy

The organisers reserve the right to refuse admission for any reason, and a refund may be issued if necessary.
Ticket holders and guests may not engage in marketing or advertising activities or other commercial activities without prior consent.
If you are denied entry or have been previously ejected, you may not attempt to purchase another ticket or gain entry in any way.
To maintain safety and comply with licensing objectives, various items are prohibited at Aglow. The following items are not allowed, and we reserve the right to prohibit any other item deemed a safety or security risk:
- Food and Drink – No food or drink (including alcohol) is allowed, except for sealed bottles of water up to 500ml.
- Liquids – No liquids are permitted except for sealed bottles of water up to 500ml.
- Animals – Dogs are allowed as long as they are kept on a lead.
- Dangerous Items – The following are considered dangerous and are not permitted:
  - Glass in any form
  - Spray cans, gas canisters, or compressed gas in any container
  - Firearms, knives, blades, or replica weapons
  - Balaclavas, face coverings, or masks
  - Scooters, skateboards, bicycles, and trolleys
  - Megaphones, amplification equipment
  - Cans or metal containers, Klaxons, air horns, or similar items capable of making loud noises
  - Laser pens or drones
  - Fireworks, flares, smoke canisters, or Chinese lanterns. We are not liable for any prohibited items or items we deem inappropriate or unsafe that are confiscated.

Ticket Purchase Policy & Security

The event organisers retain full control over creative decisions regarding the event’s design, and refunds will not be offered if there are variations between the event as advertised online and the actual event.
In the event of cancellation, the relevant ticketing platform will attempt to notify you and typically offer a refund for the ticket’s face value.

Please refer to the Terms and Conditions on the official website of the ticket platform through which you purchased your tickets. In the case of any discrepancies between the platform’s Terms and Conditions and these Terms and Conditions, these Terms and Conditions will take precedence.

Safety & Security

Any behaviour that jeopardises your safety or that of other attendees or event staff will result in ejection from the event.
Climbing on event structures or existing park landscapes is strictly prohibited.
Anti-social or abusive behaviour towards anyone at the event will not be tolerated.
There will be no refunds in the event of ejection.
We are not liable for any indirect losses or damages, including loss of enjoyment, goodwill, and/or travel or accommodation expenses.
Admission is at the ticket holder’s own risk, and we do not accept liability for any loss, injuries, or damages sustained at the event, except where caused directly by our negligence.
In case of an emergency, ticket holders must follow instructions from event officials and staff.
Ticket holders with access requirements should visit the event website and navigate to the Access page or email [email protected] with their access needs.

Filming & Photography

Unauthorised professional or for profit filming, photography, or recording is not allowed. Please refrain from bringing professional equipment, as entry will be denied.

Trading & Commercial Activity

Only those specifically authorised by the event organisers may engage in trading or commercial activities at the event.

General Information

Strobe lighting, lasers, smoke/haze effects, and other special effects may be utilised during some performances.
The event takes place outdoors. Please dress appropriately and ensure you have suitable footwear. No refunds will be provided due to inclement weather.
Traveling to the venue and parking (if applicable) is at the ticket holder’s own risk. To protect the environment, we recommend using public transport.
Smoking is not allowed in enclosed spaces at the event.
The event organisers are not responsible for any damage or loss of personal items. Please report any losses at the Information Point on-site.
