Classical Art (Young People)

Based at the Artists Hub and closely connected to The Spanish Gallery, this course offers an inspiring introduction to traditional techniques in fine drawing and oil painting. Guided by an experienced artist, you’ll master essential skills such as proportion, cartooning, and rendering, while learning how to bring depth and realism to your work. After mastering drawing, you will move on to oil painting—from colour mixing to layering—and discover how classical methods can form the foundation for broader creative expression. Ideal for home-schooled young people and those seeking an alternative art education, this hands-on course draws upon the classical artwork in The Spanish Gallery, learning from the old masters for contempory creative tuition.
